What is the new process like for sending in my pipettes? If you need a quote prior to service, complete a Request for Quote form. The quote will be sent to you along with all the next steps you need to take to receive service. If you don’t require a quote, or already have one, simply complete a Service Form and send a copy of the completed service form to our lab along with your pipettes.
What can I expect my turnaround time to be? For expedited service at no additional charge, call us at 800-242-6022 to schedule your service for an industry-best 24–72-hour turn-time from the time of delivery. Pipettes sent in without scheduling will be subject to our service queue, which is currently around 14 business days.
What will my pricing be? During this time of transition, we will honor any quote that was provided to you. If you wish to obtain a quote prior to sending pipettes, simply complete this form and the quote will arrive in less than 24 hours. Our goal is to provide the same pricing you would have received from the Virginia lab.
How do I send pipettes for repair? Since the cost for the repair is unknown, we do not require a quote prior to sending pipettes for repairs. You may use the same Service Form as above and follow the same process. When receiving instruments for repair, one of three outcomes is possible:
- Repair is quick and inexpensive. We will fix it, return it, and bill you.
- Repair is wise but costly. We will send you a quote beforehand, and you can decide how to proceed.
- Repair is unwise. We charge a $20 evaluation fee and return the instrument.
If you require a quote before repairs are initiated, or over a specific dollar amount, just indicate that in the comments section of the service form.
What will the certificate look like? The certificate will look different, but it will include all the required data for your service level. To receive a sample certificate, email us at scheduling@pipettes.com.
I’m filling out the form and need to get the same type of service I received the last time I sent in my pipettes. What service level do I choose? The Service Levels have not changed, and there are now even more options to choose from. We make it clear on the Service Form what each service type will include, and more help can be found here. Is this lab on my approved vendor list? Yes, this lab is owned and operated by the same vendor, Transcat Inc/Pipettes.com/BioTek. The shipping address may be different, and depending upon your requirements, you may need to have a new vendor set up in your system, which we can help with.
I have special test specifications. How can I be sure the lab will honor them? We are fully able to accommodate your custom specifications and test points in Milford as long as we are informed ahead of time. When sending in your pipettes, please include a copy of the test specifications you require or a thorough description of the test specifications.
How do I know that the new lab services pipettes under the same quality system? All Transcat pipette calibration laboratories are governed by Transcat’s Corporate Quality System, and both our Pipettes.com Virginia location and Milford location fall under the same system.
I have items to send that are not pipettes. What about timers, thermometers, and other items? Please contact your onsite coordinator to obtain a quote to send equipment to one of our Transcat labs.
